IT’S ALL GREEK TO ME….
With fire extinguishers at the ready, we will start our evening off with Saganaki, Greek flaming cheese…OPA! Traditionally made with Kefalotiri cheese, pan-seared until melted and gooey on the inside, crispy on the outside, set aflame with Metaxa, a Greek brandy, and then doused with the juice of a lemon to put out the flame and add a fresh burst of flavor! Moussaka is the star of the evening, prepared with a hearty meat sauce (vegetarian option available) with a hint of cinnamon, tender eggplant, and a rich bechamel sauce topping. Dessert is a traditional Bougatsa, a delicious semolina custard inside layers of filo dough, baked to perfection and dusted with cinnamon and powdered sugar. Let’s make Yiayia proud!
